MIT is setting a good example. I would, however, say that putting up the material and lectures is only part of the puzzle. Communication between the teacher and the students, and between the students themselves is also important. Plus, a bit of homework (aargh!) helps drive the concepts home.

    Krishna,

I wasn’t against the idea of a traditional classroom study. And I firmly believe that class room and everything associated with it has a big part to play in education.

I think the next natural progression is that the students around the world take this and counter this offering by setting up online study groups, self imposing homeworks etc.

I am taking few courses myself. I know few of my friends at work are also intrested. I am not yet sure myself how to turn this into. But eventually my idea is to set up a online study group. Create a community of study groups to exchange and discuss their course. Everything virtual, but should simulate a near class room experience.

    Let see what happens
