I hang around in forums and groups to see what the new generation students talk about. I often find a thread where the guys just bitches about their teachers. Funny thing is, the reason why they think their teachers are blockheads, seems same all these years. I confess I did the same thing myself.
Many universities have joined in a consortium to share their course materials online for students world wide. This courseware includes Audio, Video. MIT even has a channel in youtube. So your teachers may be bad, but there are good teachers elsehwere. So feel free to find them. The concept was introduced in 1999, but hasn’t gained momentum until recently. I think a reason for the increased popularity is due to the fact that the technology has advanced a lot and the medium to share has become cheap and popular.

Well, this is a great idea. A truly remarkable concept that could benefit generations to come. The world just had become big classroom. Your classmate might be miles away.

I couldn’t resist laughing reading Scott H’s post I like cake …. This is funny because its something happens every where, not necessarily in a software development environment.
Let me get you one story from my diary. You need to watch this first to get to the context of what I am talking about.
If you haven’t seen it, I really advice you should, its even funnier if you are born to immigrant parents.
This video has been going around in my team for a long time. Being the only indian I suddenly turned into a target. I get picked pretty easily for various reasons, but this became funny when they turned it into the context of our work. Suddenly I started receiving oneline emails from our testers if they find some stupid stuff in my code saying, “Somebody gonna get a hurt real bad”. Needless to say show stopper bug is referred to as Somebody gonna get a hurt …
Need to get back to work, otherwise “Sombody gonna get a hurt real bad”.
If you ever want to shake off a song of your head. Listen to the famous disney song. “Its a small world after all.” (Thanks bill for shariing this trivia).
So what I was saying is, we went to Orlando, Florida; the famous pilgrimage, to pay homage to St. Disney. After shoving so much money I had shot a video with that famous song as the background.
